Cycling Medicine Down Under 2009 conference was an event which run parallel with elements of the ProTour world cycling event, The Tour Down Under.

Cycling Medicine Down Under featured rigourous academic sessions aimed at medical and allied health professionals who have an interest in sports medicine and injury prevention as well as cycling techniques.

Plenary sessions were coupled to discussion groups and practical workshops which extended participants knowledge and practice of cycling and sports medicine.

Registration includes all sessions conducted by top medical and allied health professionals, elite sportspeople, world-class coaches and motivators.

Registration included participation in the Mutual Community Challenge Tour, early morning cycle sessions and time trials. Reserved seats at the Legends Dinner were included.

Also included were conference meals and refreshments, bus transport to venues AND the closing lunch on a viewing platform at the start/finish line for the finale of the Tour Down Under.

A highlights DVD of the event was sent to all Cycling Medicine Down Under participants.

VEROFIT started operating in the 1980s in Switzerland and developed its products together with the University of Zurich. Since then, many athletes have used their wide range of products ( electrolyte drinks, recovery drinks, meal bars and gels) and enjoyed their very complete formulas and nice flavours.

onference Objectives


At the conclusion of the conference it is expected that delegates will have an understanding of the following:

  • Normal mechanics and biomechanics of cycling

  • Physiology and psychology of training and competing for the average and elite cyclist

  • Injury patterns, injury prevention, treatment and rehabilitation for the cyclist


During the conference delegates will have the opportunity to 

  • Train under the supervision of elite riders

  • Reinforce their understanding of cycling medicine

  • Have first hand experience in training and competing methods

Linking in with Events SA program for the day, including various ride distances and buses for those not wishing ride. Included in the conference fee.

 

The three distance options for you to choose from are:

Burnside Village to Angaston           155km

Mt Pleasant to Angaston             97km

Angaston to Angaston                       32km
